Meet the Board

President - Kathryn Hendley

Hi, I’m Kathryn, and I’m the BBWR president for 2024. I’m a cat 3 racer and I love racing road and cyclocross! During the race season, you’ll find me out racing nearly every weekend. I enjoy the weekly BBW group rides and especially love helping new cyclists get into riding and racing for the first time. The BBWR team has taught me so much about cycling over the past few years and my goal is to make cycling accessible and fun for everyone who want to improve their skills, get more fit, explore new routes and trails, and join a great group of people.

Jonathan Bryan - Secretary

Hey I’m Jonathan, the team Secretary.  I enjoy eating ice cream, doughnuts, and any candy that is sour. I’ve been known to dabble in biking, too. I love riding gravel, mountain, and road. You’ll likely see me early on Saturday mornings leading a ride to Veloccino or going solo.

Dan Doggett - MTB Captain

Hey I'm Dan! I've been a team member since 2016 and currently serve as mountain bike captain! I love riding mtb, racing cross and generally just having fun out there on bikes.

Robert Abad - Road Captain

Hey I'm Robert, the Road Captain. I'm a former club rugby player who fell in love with cycling in 2020, and joined team BBWR in 2022. I enjoy all things road, but I'll complain the whole way up a hill.

Ashlea Gray - Falkorburg Co-Race Director

Hi! I'm Ashlea!  I've served on the board in a variety of roles over the years. Currently I am a co-race director for Falkorburg Cross.  My favorite bike activities take me off the road, onto gravel, grass, or single track. I have a passion for connecting people who love biking with other people who love biking (it's me, I have a passion for finding people who will ride bikes with me).  See you at the races and other places bikes are ridden!

Raelene Meneses - Falkorburg Co-Race Director

Hi friends, I'm Rae, a co-race director of Falkorburg Cross!    I started racing road in 2016 then found the love of cyclocross.  I still race time trials during road season if I'm not officiating as a "blue shirt."   I also enjoy the adventure of hitting the trails of Patapsco on my hardtail.  Currently, my days of chasing podiums are few and far between.  My focus has been on keeping races safe, available, and inclusive to all as well as building the next generation of bike enthusiasts.  Looking forward to riding with you!

Alex Gray - Falkorburg Co-Race Director

Hi, Alex Gray here. I’ve been a member since 2014. I’ve been a team mtb captain, cross captain, and I’m currently a co-race director for Falkorburg Cross. I got into cycling by way of triathlon, then I fell in love with cross racing. These days I'm not in it for the podiums as much as the personal challenges and general adventure that comes with cycling and family life. #littleshredders

Jack Valenti - Cyclocross Captain

I’m Jack Valenti (he/him/his) and I’ll be the Cyclocross Captain for ’24. I got back into bikes in 2020 after a long hiatus and have since found a passion in racing gravel and CX. Finding this team was the launching pad I needed to start racing and riding and it has been full speed ahead since. You’ll see me out riding most often on our Thursday group ride (BBL) and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Berg’s on Wednesdays for hot laps once we’re in the full swing of cross! You might also catch me mountain biking badly, bikepacking, skiing, or deeply engaged in gear talk on the internet.

Bryan Owens - Virtual Riding Captain

Hey I’m Brian, the virtual riding captain.  I’ve been a member of BBWR since 2015, and enjoy road, gravel, virtual, and cross riding.  You can typically catch me on our Saturday morning rides throughout the year.

Nathan Aaron - Web & Social Media

Hey! I’m Nathan! I’ve been a member since ‘22 and have held this position since ‘23. My favorite disciplines include Gravel and Road, while also commuting to and from work in DC on my Brompton. I’ve been riding bikes since nearly as early as I could walk, and while I’m not one for races, I’m ALL IN on the adventure.
